Endgame content. A hallmark of old FF games was that once you got through about 90% of the story, the game opened up into crazy wild goose chases and insanely hard bosses. That wasn't really present in FF7 remake, but obviously we remember the Gold Chocobo and weapon fights from the original.

Think we get these in this game?

Did you play Intergrade? There was some pretty hard "endgame" fights added in the fight simulator

Endgame content.

Agreed that there wasn't a LOT of it, but did you finish the DLC and then challenge Weiss in the combat simulator?

If not, try it. And good luck

Still, it would be cool to see a more abstract and variegated composition of endgame content endeavors. Something more than "Ok, change your difficulty and do this again and the enemies will be tougher any the big reward is adding one more weapon that you can't get on your first playthrough" like they did in 16. FFS, give me back something the the FFX Omega Ruins or monster arena, or the X2 Bevelle dungeon, or the Deep Sea Research dungeon in VIII. Even XV had some tough (and unique) endgame content, albeit not to the extent of anything like previous titles.

I poured so many hours into X after the game. I replayed it about 3 years ago and kind of watered down the ending because I had gotten too strong for Jecht to be a challenge.

I just finished chapter 6 leaving costel del all but devs have confirmed no choco breading. You can race them eventually at Saucer. It terms of end game the end game is hard mode without items which let me tell you will be MASSIVLEY harder in rebirth than remake since you can’t change main 3 playable during combat. The bosses have more complex AI in hard. Also AI jn remake had super bosses.

This open world is 100x better than 15. The first two open world grasslands and Junon are the biggest. You can bee line the main story if you want but imo it’s a mistake there’s about 6-7 activity types no including 1 offs and if you do all 6 combat encounters with rare enemies the zone boss will be able to be challenged and they’re usually very ruff for your level. You can call your choco anywhere if you wish and there amazing mini games left and right. Many of the non all combat events make attempts to tie into the games lore which I appreciate and can level up the various vr summons. Each one you find can lower their difficulty to best and any summon you have to beat in vr can level 1/5 stars by doing these. Yeah there’s some open world stuff liken towers.

There is crafting but imo it’s actually very good. What you can craft is determined by level and new levels open up new things with more complex options. You don’t have to go into weapon spheres and pick upgrades anymore way more streamlined.

You get a lot of matateria (good stuff) from doing vr missions for chadley. To unlock them you need to do that combat challenges and the ones before them though.

Pro tip don’t go out and buy like 4 of each spell each characters tutorial vr gives at least a 2 star element or something worth it including an mp up which they’re far more stingy on here

Yip yip.

I spent enough time on my main playthrough that the entire sphere grid had been basically cleared and refilled with +4 nodes. Every single character had their ultimate weapons, and all stats maxed at 255 including luck. It's hilarious using Yuna and Lulu as melee hard hitters. Never lost to Nemesis, and beat all the Dark Aeons and Penance. Was working on maxing out all Aeons stats when it became too tedious and I got burned out.

Went ahead and played through the end again and Jecht never even got a turn . I think I had something like 300 hours on that save. That was the last FF title where you actually could become god-level OP if you put in the effort. I could literally never attack anything, and with Evade/Counter and Magic Counter with max evasion, it was still impossible to lose to anything not named Nemesis.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I've never completed a FF title after VI.

I have FF7 remake on my Switch but haven't ever gotten back into it. I believe I completed the 1st disc back on the PSX.
