Some people who played in the alpha have said they still one shot some people in the head. It's appears to rely on RPG mechanics more than I thought originally. You will hate it of course.

Looks pretty awful. Hate the traditional RPG elements. Fake and cartoony with the damage readout for every shot.

I imagine people take longer to die based on how good the shooters weapons vs how good the armor is on the person getting shot. Also level.
Since it's a rpg..I'm assuming there are levels and loot. So there has to be a benefit.
I understand why that would be a chore to some people but I like the concept.

Game looks gorgeous. The RPG stuff is going to be make or break for me. With this style game, it does just look odd seeing the hit points popping up on the screen. I'm just not sure how much that aspect will really add to this game, or if it will be more of a distraction. Will definitely keep my eye on it though.

Am I remembering borderlands wrong saying that the hit numbers pop up over their heads too? Not bizarre at all. Not sure why this has been a constant talking point.

It does, but Borderlands is also a cartoon style game. I'm meaning with regards to how realistic this game looks. I'm not saying i won't buy the game for that one aspect, it just looks odd and a bit distracting to me in such a real looking environment.

The whole "running around frenzy shooting everything in site just to collect loot" concept is plentiful in the gaming market. This side of it makes me want to seriously check it out.

A beta will not fix you blasting someone in the head point blank only for them to one-shot you in the toe with a pistol because they're three levels higher than you...that's the core game. That sounds like a mess.
