Looks like the entirety of North America accounts for 39% of total PS5 sales since release. Looks like the US accounts for roughly 80% of NA sales, so the US likely accounts for about 31% of total PS5 sales. With the US being a very wealthy market, we tend to be early adopters on the tech curve with less developed countries lagging behind.

Considering that projected worldwide sales numbers appear to have been revised down something like 20%, no, it’s not really reasonable to blame any one country, including the US, unless someone out there has data showing that the US only purchased something along the lines of 20% of expected sales, which is just outlandish.

Thanks for looking this up. I certainly didn't expect you to. Good information though.

The PS5 just isn’t a must have console. Especially with the rise of powerful handheld consoles like the Steamdeck, Sony needs to do something to right the ship, asap.

I agree with your PS5 statement. I don't have any experience with handhelds like Steamdeck, so I can't comment on that, but it certainly seems like Sony isn't moving the needle on games that would garner a increase in PS5 sales.

Honestly, the only game I still play on mine is The Division 2, which is dirt cheap on PC (and a PS4 game with no upgrade to PS5) but I can't move my save from PS to PC and I won't start over. Otherwise, I can almost not have a PS5. I will play Spiderman 2 (I'm at like 25%) but there are just games on PC that I'm still in to.

but whats the last thing they pushed out under their own name..

It sucks to answer this way, but it depends on how you are defining it.

They've bought a lot of developers (Insomniac, which puts out Spidermand and Ratchet & Clank games, for example). Those are technically SIE companies (as opposed to something like Arrowhead, developers of Hellstrike 2, which SIE is only the publisher).

I don't think they develop much (if anything) directly under the SIE banner (like they did with SOE, for example).

Where were you when Helldivers saved Sony?

I am unaware of helldivers and it’s relation to Sony…

But it’s like you just lit the Bat signal and now I have to investigate.

3 of the 4 of those are super popular and successful, and I've heard a lot of great things about Pentiment but really know nothing about it.

I'm still happily playing PS4 and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. PS5 doesn't have many big exclusives. The only one I can think of right now I would want to play is Spiderman 2.

Same. A PS5 Pro might get me to pull the trigger, but I've still only seen the consoles available in the wild 2-3 times since launch.

There is a pretty nice thread about it on page 1.

In my view this is a response to Sony's failed shift into making games as a service titles.

So much money and time wasted and not much of anything to show for it.

It's weird that Sony can't figure this out.
