I dont have a 3DS, so yes, i'm jealous, but this is one reason I hate the segregation of the nintendo market.

I'm a huge metroid fan, and I have to wait until prime 4 to play one on the newest console, yet 3DS gets this, which could have easily been put out on the switch.

Enjoy, lucky enough, I'm playing a remake that looks and plays like Super Metroid called AM2R. You can get it online and play it with a ps4/xbox controller on PC.

It's GREAT. But I really want to play the offial 3DS one.

Yeah I'm kind of irritated I can't play this on switch

The 3D effect is very well used here though

Going to buy it tomorrow. Been on an extended vacation where I haven't had the opportunity.

I did a 100% run on it and loved every second. It's well thought out game and SUPER difficult even on regular mode. And yes, there is a sexy ending like always if you fulfill certain requirements.

But let me tell you this...it teases the next game and you'll go nuts when you see it. But that's only on a 100% run. Good luck ;)

I was going to be a little lazy with this one, now I feel like i'm cheating myself out of money if I don't 100% it for the big surprise.

It's obnoxious that it's not a switch title

But it is awesome. I love the Melee mechanic. It never fails to be satisfying

Agree.

I owned 3 different 3DS over these last few years. Sold my last one roughly 1 month ago. Did this on the basis that Nintendo seemed to be moving more and more games to the Switch based on the rumor mill.

Totally forgot about Metroid II.

Edt: I would pay $60 bucks for this title on my Switch.

The 3D effect is one of the handful of times the effect is perfectly used

Also the dual screen with map on the bottom takes away the slog of pressing pause and checking the map

I do love the 2nd screen. It is awesome for games where you reference a map non stop.

A Link Between Worlds was my favorite use of the 2nd screen. Damn was that game good. So enjoyable to play. One of my favorite gaming experiences.

it works well on wii u too. Zelda is just perfect for a second screen and as it turns out so is 2d Metroid.

I got into Metroid recently first by playing super Metroid. since then I've played all the primes, fusion, and now samus returns. samus returns is my favorite 2d so far. just way more atmospheric and less of a slog. definitely easier than super Metroid in terms of figuring out secrets on the map because you get the item to scan pretty much right from the start. the combat is more challenging and exciting than it is in super Metroid but it is just as exploratory as super Metroid. it loses nothing in terms of exploration

it's worth grabbing a used 3d or even 2ds to play. i'm with you, I would pay full price for this game on switch and it would be a steal. the game is that good.

You see I don't think so.

My TV is too far in front of me. Makes looks straight down at my Wii U controller a little too much. Did not enjoy it on the Wii U. Loved the Wii U because it did have some really good 1st party games but did not like the controller. It was useless IMO. Just used the pro controller.

So for the 3DS it works because you are already looking down or in that direction. It is simply refocusing a few inches away.

I will. Looking at that Pokemon one for $99. I do need it to go back and play X/Y from time to time.

which is way less tedious than going to menu to switch items in and out and check maps

dual screens work closer together, without a doubt. but I remember how tedious it was in previous Zeldas pausing, switching items and checking maps.

Its not that much of a pain IMO. But also personal preference.

It's about damn time they remade Metroid 2. Nice of Nintendo to lawyer up and shut down all the various unofficial ones over the years...
