Game is pretty good so far. Story has not disappointed. All the characters are good.

Combat has been fun, although a bit button-mashy.

Anyone else playing?

Solid. Combat peaked in Xillia. This is a noticeable downgrade from that.

Overall I'm glad for another entry in the series, but this is below Xillia and Graces. I'd say pretty equal to Xillia 2. I liked some of the new mechanics, though.

I enjoy it. Currently haven't been able to play much. Story is typical Tales. Enjoy the combat, But xillia 2 probably has the best combat. Even though Xillia 2 is my least favorite.

Sadly, I haven't gotten the chance to play it. It looks really good and I hope to get it before too long.

I have shelved it for the time being while I get my Fallout 4 fix.

I'm enjoying it but It is a step down from Xillia 1 and 2. The battle AI is horrendous. Enemies even target the player character and always b-line for party members. Party members will get one-hit killed repeatedly by bosses as they don't know how to dodge.

The game mechanics also feel overly convoluted this time around. I have no idea how weapon upgrades work or bonus skills.

Yes, I bought it when it came out and have really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, for it, Fallout 4 has come out and it's been put on the backburner.

I started it when it came out on Steam. Travel and LotV have put it on the back burner for now, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I don't want to be rude, but this

sounds kinda like you don't know how to play the game. Now, poor tutorials and unnecessary complexity is certainly a valid criticism, I just didn't hear that from anyone (including friends who have beaten it) before I read your post.

Still looking forward to getting a shot at it.

I'll admit, the weapon upgrades are somewhat convoluted and useless a good bit of the time, but I largely focus on stat upgrades and immediate affects like paralysis, stun, increased damage against enemy types, etc.

The battle system is a bit low brow, but it is enjoyable enough.

I play these games for the stories more than anything.

One thing that always was a negative with these games is that only weapon design changes. I want my person's armor to change too, dammit.

Not to distract too much, but did anyone ever play Rogue Galaxy on the ps2?

Is there post in particular that I'm supposed to be looking at?

One of my favorite PS2 games. Kinda sad it released so late in the PS2's life that a lot of people skipped it.

Don't know if they're still discussing Tales of Zestiria, but when the game came out, there were tons of complaints on the battle AI. There were a lot of posts on the gamefaqs forum as well.

The camera isn't the greatest either. It is focused behind your character even in combat, and the battles take place on the world map rather than in flat arenas. That means the camera gets stuck in corners in dungeons, and it can be hard to see what is going on.

I like the game, but it is a disappointment coming from Xillia.
