Any of you still race online (NR2003 or iRacing)?

I just got myself a new computer after gravitating away from PC games for the last few years. I got the itch and decided to order a wheel to get back into racing with a league again.

I reinstalled my old NR2003 game...still looks pretty good 13 years later. I want to jump into iRacing, but they seem to rape you price-wise. I just wanna race again. Any of you got any advice on which way I should go to get my racing fix?

dont play it anymore but iracing is worth the price to try it out. they always have some 3 months for the price of 1 deals going. should be plenty of time to figure out if the insane pricing is worth it to you.

PR-NewMember31815 thats a 3 for 1.

should work

If you're going as far as buying a wheel you should go ahead and make the jump into iracing. Pricing isn't bad if you take your time and go slow. I'm coming up on a year and still just race the mazda and run about 1/2 the skip barber races.

Also, download steam and pick up Stock Car Extreme. It's the best racing sim out there. Closest thing there is to racing actual people.

God, I loved the NR series. NR2003 is still amazing for being over 10 years old. I was heavily involved in the modding community back in the day. Made a ton of car skins and a few photoshop templates for painting. Did some track art for custom tracks too. Still pissed about the cease and desist letters that led to all the exe altering mods getting shut down because freakin Sierra sold the rights to iRacing. I kinda just up and quit sim racing after that. I refuse to give Kaemmer any of my money for that subscription service.

I can't wait to see what DMi does with the NASCAR license. Lots of old Papy guys involved with it, so hopefully it lives up to the hype. Maybe I will get back into it.

I didn't mod, but I bet I painted over a thousand cars for the leagues I was in. It was more coincidental, but I left the sim racing world at around the same time iRacing shite on the modding community, too. What a crapfest.

I would really like to get into iRacing, but those butthurt feels and their overpriced subscription packages give me pause. When I googled, there are still quite a few NR2003 leagues going. I'll probably hop on one of those leagues, then sub to iRacing for a month, see if I like it.
