Alan Wake remastered coming to ps plus July 4th

This is great timing for me since I planned to buy this for 30 bucks and finally play it for the first time since seeing the sequel reveal. Can someone who has played shed light on what kind of horror to expect? Is it more resident evil or silent hill?

I played it years ago when it first came out and would say it’s not really scary from what I remember just had some intense parts kind of like RE4 I guess. Might have to replay and see if it holds up

That’s odd. I did just a minutes worth of googling and couldn’t throw a rock without hitting someone gushing non stop about how scary this game is

I had never even heard of it until I saw the reveal trailer for the sequel at summer games fest. I was looking around the store for a game after FF16 and saw the first one was 30$ but had a big headline it would be on ps plus ont the 4th. The sequel trailer looked interesting so might as well give a a go it’s free

So please tell me, is it silent hill type horror? Resident evil? Evil within? What horror type can I expect here? The trailer for part two looks like a Resident Evil remake in terms of 3rd person over the shoulder look but an atmosphere that looks to capture the psychological horror of silent hill. I am just a bit confused what the are going for
