This morning I put in COD Black Ops 2 for the WiiU just to shoot some computer peeps for old times sake.

I decided what the hell and tried to see if I could play online and lo and behold they still have the server running. I tried my WiiU copy of COD Ghosts and that works too.

Then to really see how far back they'd keep things running I popped in my old arse Wii copy of Modern Warfare Reflex. I shite you not the servers for that are still going too and there are still enough people playing that I played (and got wrecked) several full matches.

Gotta give them credit where credit is due. I checked online on some message boards and apparently the Wii versions of Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3, and Goldeneye are all still running strong.

For a company that has a (deserved) rep for being assholes to it's customers it's pretty cool that they still have servers running for what are surely the lowest selling versions of their COD base games. (though apparently Goldeneye still uses Nintendo's servers for authentication so once the Wii Shop channel is gone you'd have to used a hacked custom server to still play like you do with other Wii games.) Too bad EA is nowhere near as cool b/c I'd love to get in some Medal of Honor Heroes 2 32 player deathmatch going again.

Well..

At less they kept that server up for the smallest percentage of their player base.

Such great guys.

Well I said they were money hungry assholes. Still though, it's pretty cool that they have kept these servers up when they don't have to.
