Simple solution----don't go on his property.

If you stop in the road or the shoulder he can't do anything except call the police he doesn't own the right of way of the road or the shoulder.

I haven't seen 1 time yet that me or my kids had to leave our vehicle or sidewalk to go into someone's yard to catch a Pokemon. That's what the circle is for it extends far enough out from your player, unless google map isn't updated yet where you live then in that cause keep your arse off someone's property.

It's his property. How stupid does a person have to be to think they can just drive up in someone's property in the middle of the night with no explanation other than "I was hunting cartoon characters"?

I was visiting my grandparents in 1984-85 when This Search for Gold contest was going on. The only way I know about it is the carful of idiots that showed up Sunday night in the middle of nowhere NWLA supposedly looking for it.

Grandma's sister had picked up grandma and just left for night church service. Their old house had no AC so the screen doors and screened windows were only thing between 4-6 guys and me and near deaf 80 year old grandad. One guy came to door as I was retrieving weapons (shotgun, rifle, pistol)and asked permission to search the acreage and told us about the game/treasure search. We advised him leave and not come back.

A little later as Great Aunt turns into driveway and her headlights swing around I see a guy kneeling behind grandad's pickup, another hiding behind big Mimosa tree at edge of drive and 2 more in the crepe myrtles tween road ditch and yard. I grabbed shotgun and went out escorted grandma into house while grandad dialed 911. Just a few minutes later a couple deputies in 2 vehicles came by and took off after them.

A few minutes after that the deputies came back and said they caught up as they crossed state line into Texas. Said if they come back to go ahead and shoot them but they told them to stay out of Louisiana totally (implied told them at gunpoint).

The guys probably were really searching for this golden horse treasure. They told details about a power line near a lake/body of water in rural area, blahblahblah...

Moral of the story: Don't go pokin around private property after dark/near dark or you might get shot/arrested.

Store owner is an a-hole and dumb shite. Also missing an opportunity to take advantage getting traffic to his place.

If it's someone residence I understand but if it's a store or restaurant and you don't realize the opportunity to take advantage of you're just not very intelligent.

It sounds like it's a store up front and a residence out back. If it's after hours, I wouldn't want a bunch of people roaming around my store or residence after dark.

Yea, the owner sounds like an arse, but the people that keep rolling onto his property to play pokemon don't sound much better.

You're correct, storefront and residence on same property. A case of owner looking after his stuff in middle of the night.

I Googled it and looked on the map. Appears to be on outskirts of that bustling mega-opolis El Dorado, Arkansas. There's a trailer park near and a high school not too far away. I bet the guy has had prowlers and stupid kids troubling him before.

Surrounded by a high school, RV park, gas station, and rubber & gasket shop. I'm sure they've had to deal with groups of kids and adults, but they could handle this so much better than call people names. That's never going to go well.

I can also see how people didn't know it's a business/residence. Not exactly a residential zone. Put up a damn fence and get over it

It's not exactly on the street either, tucked back into the wooded area. I can see how in the night he would appear gun-in-hand at some unknown prowler.

Of course he should also keep his mouth shut rather than open it and remove all doubt of his ignorance.

Sounds like a legitimate excuse when you get caught in the middle of a burglary.

Police, "Hands up!"

Gamer, "Don't shoot my pokemon!"
