Yeungling being distributed in MS starting January 2016

SIAP, did a search and didn't catch it. They've made a distribution deal with all of the Bud houses there. My reps think it will be at least another year for distribution here but we've kept saying that. I wonder how that will affect the "buzz" it has now that it will be more accessible.

There's buzz for a mediocre lager?

saw that earlier. personally i am much more excited about bell's coming.

It was cheaper than BMC in NC

After living in DC and being bombarded with Yeungling everywhere, I still cannot figure out what sort of magical spell this crap puts on people.
It is an average, canned lager. No more, no less.

I used to like it a lot more years ago, before so many good beers became readily available. It was a good step up from BMC beers, and there were not a lot of other choices in many markets.
I still like it, especially in summer, and am glad to hear it is one state closer. I still have about 5 cases left from my last haul from AL.

People in ms are like really into yeungling and I have no idea why. It's probably bevause they can't get it

I like it but it definitely isn't the best. For those who wonder why it is so popular, Louisiana is about 5-10 years behind a lot of other places in the US when it comes to craft beer.

I'd hardly consider it craft

Brewer's Association says it's craft, but their definition has always been anything that isn't BMC is craft, so their definition is debatable.
Yeungling is one step above BMC lagers. I'll kick back a good bit on the lake in the summer, but let's be honest - I'm not drinking Yeungling for the taste. I'm drinking it to catch a buzz in the sun on a budget.

Ive read this about 5 times and still cant figure out the relation between it being popular and us being 5-10 years behind.
Almost comes off as contradictory

I'm happy to say that Yuengling is not offered anywhere within 100 miles of where I live, according to the Yuengling website. I am in no danger of having to drink one any time soon.

Basically, people tend to not know any better. Throw the low supply buzz in and you get an inflated demand.

Talking about MS or LA people with this inflated demand?

I don't know what it is like in MS. Here in LA, they wouldn't care as much, imo, if they had the access to craft beers as other markets. Once they get it here it will fizzle out in 6 months.

It will be here no later than August

That's how it usually goes. Introduced in a new state, and then it fizzles in six months. They have pulled out of, like, zero states. Oh, wait. Never mind.
Hey, it ain't triple hopped beard-crumb-yeast organic lambic. But it's a decent light beer that lots of folks like. I think it will make it in the MS market. LA too if it makes it here.
