Last week I went to my hometown and some family members took me to a "Mexican" place in Moss Bluff, right outside of LC. Place was disgusting. Food and trash all over the floor and every step was a slippery one. Can't even remember the name, but never again

Steamboat Bills isn't the worst, but it's damn sure overrated.

+1000000

Not sure how a fried seafood place got so much shine in the first place. Oh and stop calling those chicken sandwiches "poboys".

Worst meal I've had out so far was at Landry's in the Golden Nugget.

LA Star is pretty awful. I don't have high standards for Chinese buffets, but I've been twice and refuse to go back.

I'd say Steamboat Bill's is overpriced and overrated. It's not bad, but very average. I'd go to Seafood Palace before Steamboat any day.

Agreed. I love their gumbo but if I have to have it, I just get a cup of it and even that is almost $10 with a drink. That's nuts.

It's very rare that I get it but it is tasty, I must admit.

Either.

It's definitely overpriced for what you get.

I can't say I've had every menu item, what I have eaten is good but it's certainly not worth the price.

It's true that in Lake Charles you get some truly appalling shitholes, but let's be real about this, for its size it has to have the highest concentration of magically awesome restaurants in the state outside of NOLA. Seafood Palace. Darrell's. Ball's fried chicken. It's an awesome town for food.

The one I was referring to was the I-10 one. I didn't realize there were two of them. Never went to the other so strictly speaking on I-10.

Yeah the one on MLK is the "real" steamboat bill's. But neither one of them is as good as Seafood GOATlace.
