Started Whole 30 today.

Breakfast will be easy, but I think it will be hard coming up with new food to eat for lunch and dinner.

Does anyone have any recipes or links they would like to share?

TIA

ETA: I have a few recipes in a google doc. I would be happy to add the recipes listed here in that doc and share it with everyone.

LINK

I would make this and it would give the wife and I 4 meals each. Just have to add a veggie with it. Make sure you get whole30 compliant bacon. That is also a great site. Just some you have to modify to make whole30 compliant. With this recipe I just used regular sea salt

Crock pot will be your best friend with whole30.

Day 10 blows. Good luck

Egg Roll in a Bowl.

1 tsp. coconut oil
1 lb. ground pork
5 minced garlic cloves
1/3 cup coconut aminos
1 tsp. freshly minced ginger
1 tsp. rice wine vinegar
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 10 oz. bag coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
sliced green onion & sesame seeds, to garnish

Melt coconut oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.

Add pork and cook until browned, using a wooden spoon to break up.

Combine garlic, coconut aminos, ginger, vinegar and sesame oil in a small bowl.

Add sauce and coleslaw mix to browned pork and stir. Reduce heat and cover; cook for 15 minutes or until vegetables are soft.

Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.

I'm on Day 16 right now. Sleep is so much better. Energy level is great. Still missing alcohol, but eating has gotten easier.
What's your purpose for Whole30?

I wanted to try something new and challenge myself. I also wanted to take a break from alcohol for a while.

I created my own plan I like to call: Whole30 Plus. You get alcohol

That's what I wanted. The reason I asked is a lot of people do it to lose weight. If so, limit the fruits and nuts

I tend to over do cashews and almonds.

I don't eat much fruit and nuts anyway. It's the alcohol that makes me gain weight.

Every time we do whole30, I lose as much or more weight than my wife. I drink, she doesn't.

Oh, and when I drink liquor, I never use sweetened mixers. I have full time converted to laCroix.

I drink alot of beer, so this is mostly to break my dependence on that, while challenging myself to go on a diet. After planning this out I've realized I can so save myself a ton of money when I am not buying dairy, alcohol and breads.

No sugar is no problem for me as I do not have a sweet tooth.

I made it also, very good. Enough for 4 good size bowls.
