We all need to come to an agreement on the right way to do chicken and waffles. I’ve seen too many variations. Some places treat it like gourmet waffles and there happens to be chicken. Some places treat it like chicken with bread. Some places make the chicken spicy and the waffle buttermilk with syrup. Some places have tried a sweeter chicken with a spicier waffle. I’ve seen powdered sugar instead of syrup. I’ve seen berries and berry compotes. I’ve seen pickles. I’ve seen sandwiches

This is what I do at home. Savory waffle with a decently spicy piece of boneless fried chicken. Put bacon, spinach, and tomato on it. Typically use syrup but will venture with a sauce every now and again.

It may not be traditional but I love it.
