I'm going to be passing through Memphis soon and want to hit up Neely's. Which one is better, East or West? Or should I just go to Neely's Interstate?

I've been to the one on Jefferson and Interstate. Go to which ever is closest. Both are OK, but neither is the best in town, IMHO.

I've only been to one of them, couldn't tell you which one it was. It was good though.

I like Payne's & A&R sandwiches better than either.

Neely's

If you're looking for the best, go to either BBQ Shop on Madison or either Central BBQ location. Those are the 2 best in town IMHO. BBQ Shop is my personal favorite. There are tons of good joints in this town (cozy corner, germantown commissary, paynes, tops, etc), but definitely not Neely's.

I wasn't impressed either. No need for a repeat visit. Wasn't really impressed with Rendezvous either. However, I will give them that they have unique tasting ribs. For the Sysco haters, I ate at Rendezvous during lunch while the truck was dropping off the ribs. Texas BBQ>Memphis BBQ.

Nobody asked whether Texas BBQ or Memphis BBQ was better. Why inject that junk into this thread? It's two entirely different styles. Beef v. Pork - that's a completely different discussion. Everyone knows rendezvous is a tourist trap that is all about ambience - stop trolling.
