From BR but live elsewhere, I'm staying off Constitution and wanted a bar to drink at. When did Gameday Daiquiri's close? Why can't anything ever work there? I never went, was it that bad?

We stopped in a couple of times for daiquiris to go, but it was nothing special. I think they even added Nooley's to it but that didn't save it.

Honestly, except for Gino's, Bennington seems to be a bad location for a lot of restaurants/bars.

Daiquiri Cafe on Lee near Highland closed as well; found that out the day of the Southdowns Parade.

Wow, I didn't know Gameday closed.
I thought their daiquiris were pretty good. But it was kind of a pain to get in there with College Drive traffic. And I never saw a lot of people in there

Geez, gameday closes, fox and hound closed, glens closed, ruby Tuesday closed, clicks looks dead, mugshots closed. What's up BR commercial real estate?

Rent be too high. Just ask this barbie chick on here, she knows all about the rent prices in BR.

That's a risky area imo.

That area is going through changes. There's a new whiskey bar where Glen's was and Walk-Ons will open in the Mugshots space at the end of the month. And I bet Ruby Tuesdays won't be empty for too long.

It closed because a shitty chain with money troubles was in there. Not because it's a bad spot or because BR is in bad shape. Same with Fox & Hound

I don't buy that about fox and hound. It was around since 97. It's really weird what happened

Yeah but fox was doing really bad for the last few years. When I got hired they had a guy who was the g.m. At the one in college station there to hire new staff and train people. Basically try to turn things around. He told me that if things don't turn around they may not resign the lease. 7 months later that's what happened, even though things were getting better. Too little too late I guess.

Yeah, both their signs are gone and they had a printed sign on the door to visit their other locations.

Place was expensive from the few times I went. A poolhall type place is a tough business in a town like this

When I moved back here in 04, I went to Fox & the Hound all the time and it was always packed. But they didn't change and too many better places opened up in the area (Chimes East, Bulldog, Pelican House, Pluckers, the Cove, Coyote Blues). I went there once in the past 4-5 years and when I walked in, it was dead.

Lets not forget Fox and the Hound was just not a BR issue they closed down multiple locations, within days Glens turned into Lock and Key, Chammps/Mugshots is now a Walk Ons and places like Fire House and Kaminari are striving. I think Ruby Tuesdays will turn into something big soon. If you cant make things happen at a major intersection and interstate frontage you have issues.

Is much worse than their mediocre LSU location..had a bad trip with a friend.

Better than Jingdu..about par to Teppanyaki..notably inferior to Nagoya..vastly inferior to Sushi Masa.

How can so much craptastic survive and thrive into second BR locations? Stop giving them your money Rougeans!
