question for smokers in this thread...

I just got a charcoal grill/smoker a couple of weeks ago...

Is it easier to buy the logs instead of the wood chips?

Do you soak the logs like you would the wood chips...I'm very new to smoking...

For the two smokes that I have currently done, I have soaked wood chips, placed them in a aluminum pan, and then put them over some charcoal.

I buy the chunks in a bag for my BGE.

I don't soak the chunks or logs when I use either.

Thank you. They turned out great. Smoked them with apple wood. Homemade rub and sauce. They were devoured.
