I just do a simple 1:1 mix of sugar and water. I don't even heat it like it's often suggested. Just drop the sugar and water into a container, put a lid on it, and shake the hell out of it.

Saw someone on youtube using 2:1 sugar to water. That seems wayyy too sugary
