...or closet.

Was just putting some beers in the fridge for tomorrow night, and thought it'd be fun to see what everyone else is holding onto for those nights where you want drink "a good one".

What are the top 5-10 beers you're holding onto? A few of my best.

2014 Founder's KBS

2017 Dark Lord - French Vanilla Militia

2015 Goose Island Bourbon County Stout - The classic.

2017 Central Waters Cassian Sunset - Probably not as sought after as some of the others, but Binny's here in Chicago didn't put it out on the floor and it was 1 four pack per person, sold out in a day and a half. I predict people will start lining up for their stuff soon.

2017 Surly Darkness - Probably the best non-barrel aged stout I've ever had.

2016 3 Floyd's Dark Lord

Central Waters Nineteen

I guess this is more of a stout thread, because you IPA guys aren't stashing em, you're drinking them. But I digress.

Are they really rare or small batch?

I don't save beers, but I found a Bell's Hopslam can for sale at a local pizza joint two weeks ago. Figured it wouldn't be good after the six months or so since it was released, but it was delicious.

I didn't want to expose it to light by pulling it out the cellar and looking at the label.

I'm still looking up the rest, but these have piqued my interest big time.

The Community Ba Legion is my favorite local BA. Its not a bourbon wallup like some....its there but you really get the vanilla and chocolate coming through.

The Lakewood Temptress is likely infected as they had a big problem that year....I need to open that and find out.

I threw a 2015 bourbon county barleywine in the fridge last night that is in the same situation. Time to find out and make some room.

I have maybe a dozen or so total beers in my closet, and none of them are whales. I figure I'm alive today, so might as well drink them. I only keep things around if I have duplicates and can compare as they age.

I got tired of holding onto beer and moving it with me from place to place. Have had a couple mass purges in the last two years.

Honestly, BA beers are in such abundance that it just isn't worth it to hold onto beers anymore to me.

5 years ago so few people were doing it that it made sense to grab it and stash.

Nowadays the only thing I would really hold is Cantillon or something like that.
