Never been there but have heard some good things about it from a few people. So, can I get some honest reviews?

How much for dinner for two?
Can I get out of there for around $100?

my go to italian place. You can have a great meal for around 100 including wine.

should be right around that for you and one other person plus a lower end bottle of wine.

as far as the food goes it's definitely quality, but there are better places in Nola for the money, IMO.

check out Irene's and a Mano

I have taken out food from there once, and used to eat at the Metairie location back in the day.

Service is ok, but food was good, especially their crap and corn bisque.

Yeah, the CRAB and corn bisque that they put in a bread bowl is outstanding.

I eat at the Metairie location with my wife sometimes and they have been offering me a free martini with lunch.

It's standard greasy Creole Italian. It's okay to good, but overpriced for what it is. Impastato's, Cafe Giovanni, Fausto's, and Tommy's are better, IMO.

Impastato's is pretty damn over priced on its own.

5 courses for $26-34 is overpriced?

1) crab fingers or shrimp scampi app would be $10 in other rests

2) homemade alfredo and spaghetti would be $10 elsewhere, and not as good

3) romaine lettuce salad with tomatoes and delicious homemade dressing would be $7 elsewhere

4) two giant soft shell crabs topped with 1/4 lb of jumbo lump crabmeat would be $30 elsewhere

5) dessert isn't all that, but some of it's from Brocato's and would be $5 elsewhere

My calculations, and they could be wrong, show that this meal would be over $60 elsewhere.

Quite frankly, two people should split the five course meal. That's far too much food for one person. I'd argue that Impastato's also has the best Italian bread in town.

You know, I haven't been there in some time. Perhaps I need to give it another go.

My last time there I proceeded to eat the bowl after finishing the bisque. I had a lot of wine that night.

I would say this about Vincent's.

As for Impastatos, I'd have to remove the first clause of that statement.
