1. Why would any beer company brag about the hops in a blonde lager?
2. Why the hell is Guinness using Mosaic hops in a blonde lager? What a waste.

The main question about the whole beer is just: Why?
ETA:
I wonder if this is specifically to increase demand and drive up the price for the smaller breweries?

I was discussing Guinness Blonde with OneophileBrah while sipping the black stuff at Erin Rose recently. During my travels in Éire, you were only able to find "the black stuff". That's the way it should be. We took the tour at St. James Gate and I believe this stuff is brewed and marketed towards other countries across the world. I'm sure it isn't worth a damn. The original however... sometimes I think its unparalleled.

For the same reason that the macros are running ads about how their beers are masterfully crafted and brewed the hard way. It's now popular to talk about what's in your beer and how it's brewed. Result of the popularity of craft beer. Now the random guy at a BBQ in Anytown, USA can tell his buddies about the hop profile in his Guinness Blonde Lager.

1. Make it sound sophisticated, technical, etc.
2. See above.

Unless you traveled in the last 10 or so months, this makes sense...
