I'm pretty good on the marinade but not cooking methods. Grill or black iron? I'm assuming high heat. My wife likes well done which is stupid I like medium which I'm sure isn't a FB favorite. They were given to me fresh yesterday. Any recs. TIA

as long as your marinade policy is no marinade on tuna, you've nailed it

Everybody likes things cooked differently so I am not trying to bash you or your wife, but when it comes to Tuna if you are seeking well done or even medium, then the method really does not matter, any heat source and cook till all color is gone.

If you want to try something different, get your cast iron as hot as possible and put tuna steak on for 30 seconds on each side, turn out the lights so you can not see the red, and try it like that

Yea, light some candles, put Careless Whisper on repeat, and give her a head massage. Then you hit her with the rare tuna. Boom

I just got back from a meat haul out of Venice. Got a bunch of tuna, we eat in raw and barely seared. I've gotten a little bored with the basics. Anyone ever made a sauce of some kind to put on top. I was thinking something with crab meat. Just looking for so suggestions. TIA

I cook down a bag of spinach with butter and garlic, I then take my tuna steaks and put a little oil on them with sea salt, pepper and sesame seeds covering each steak. I heat up a pan on the stove and sear each side for 30-60 seconds each. Pull it off and place it on a bed of the spinach. I cut the tuna in thin slices and drizzle an Asian sesame dressing on top.

I just sear mine for about 25 seconds on each side with sesame oil on high heat and homemade blackening seasoning if I am not eating it raw.

As far as I can read the only person who has insulted your wife in this thread is you.

If you want something different get some good rolls or bread. Season and sear tuna to how you like it medium for you and another 2 minutes for her. Let rest a couple of minutes and make a sandwich with bread, Asian aioli, romain lettuce, nice ripe tomato, sliced avocado and sliced thin tuna.
