"Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, AL"
This is Exit 130 on I-65. They have a great turkey sandwich and turkey and dressing but Bate`s works better as another bird option at a tailgate or for sandwich meat and sides for a beach trip. They are better at catering imo. BTW, the Fish Market just off the I-459 (Highway 31 Galleria exit) is a solid and convenient seafood option for a quick lunch on your way to Atlanta. The place is owned by the Sarris family (prominent local Greek restauranteur) that flies its seafood in daily so it,s suprisingly fresh. The place isn`t fancy but has some good dishes and you get a ton of food for a decent price. There`s also a Shula`s Steakhouse at the Galleria as well as a Flemings and Village Tavern at the Summitt. All places convenient to I-459. If you go the downtown Bham route I highly recommend Cafe DuPont, one of the best higher end restaurants in Bham.
