What are my options? Where to buy? How to prep?

Ham seems simp,e, but it is not, and there is a lot of misunderstanding and bad info about it.
Head to the virtual Weber site and read about fresh ham, city (wet) ham, and country (dry) ham, and how to prepare each. LINK
You probably don't want a fresh ham, which is just raw pork and won't taste like ham unless cured with salt (correct temp, time, etc) and then smoked. Country ham may be what you are thinking of as the salty ones at the store. They usually come in a cloth sack and are salty as hell. Most folks will never eat one of these in their life. The wet-cured city ham is probably what you want. Put it on the pit for some heat and smoke, per the instructions at the link, and you're good.
Or drive to Clarence and buy a ham from Grayson's BBQ that will be delicious.

There is a company here in mid-MO that cures some of what I think are the best hams in the country...Burgers' Smokehouse. If you're looking for an uncooked ham I'd suggest the Southern Smokehouse Uncooked Country Ham.

They ship, not sure how quick or cheap it is though...
