obnoxious people generally suck, whether that is some pretzel necklace wearing beer nerd or some redneck pounding his chest about how he doesn't drink "queer beer"

they both suck equally

And Looks like Elysian folk are a little annoyed too. From Elysian Co-Founder Dick Cantwell.

I thought it was funny how Budweiser was basically mocking and patronizing their base by flashing images that would appeal to the lowest common denominator, ie their (in)security about their manliness. They are the ones who should be offended, since Budweiser treats them like a bunch of idiot children.

I'm sure it's because the loyal customers of this smaller brewery are pissed because they sold out to big daddy. Hopefully the quality stays the same.

And I can completely understand the frustration of the co-founder with his complaints.
If you put yourself in his shoes, you could see how he could be concerned for how this might hurt business.

Josh Noel writes for the Chicago Tribune. Dick Cantwell is the co-founder.

Another Goose guy, Jesse ManBQue ?@jessemanbque:

@joshbnoel @chicagotribune this ad was a bit of a kick to the nuts of us on the craft side of AB, advertising can be a bitch sometimes

@joshbnoel although beer snobbery is off the charts, i personally would have approached a #SBXLIX ad differently. #morecutepuppies

Some (not all or most) people got all jacked out of shape when Elysian sold to ABI. Same thing happened when Goose Island and 10 Barrel got bought.

He could have stayed small and poor.

As I think about this today, I think the strategy is brilliant. Tons of attention to Bud, but also to their acquisitions.

I hear you. I don't think it will, and will probably be the opposite.

Why would I drink something that I do not like?

Something is needed to quench the burn of crawfish heads. If it's Bud, and i ran out of whatever i brought, then i drink it. NBD.

I went to a boil in San Francisco last year, and all they had was Abita Amber. Not my fave, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
