Sauces for grilled meats

Cutting down on the sugar so I whipped up a chimichurri sauce last night to eat over some grilled chicken leg quarters.
The sauce was absolutely fantastic with the smokey chicken, and I am looking for more sauce ideas to make that are lower in sugar.
Anyone have some favorite recipes they want to share?
My recipe for the chimichurri:
- bunch of parsley
- bunch of cilantro
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp capers (rinsed)
- 1.5 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 0.5 cup pf olive oil
- salt & pepper to taste
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
Pulsed herbs, garlic, and capers in a food processor until all finely chopped. Added the vinegar and olive oil, and stirred. Finished with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; and stirred. Let sit for about 30 minutes.

That's pretty much how I make mine, plus fresh basil. I haven't eaten bbq sauce in forever and I don't miss it.

We've been doing a lot of chimichurri lately. It's so freaking simple yet so freaking delicious on just about any meat.
2 cups packed parsley, minced
3 tablespoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons minced oregano
1 1/2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
1 to 1 1/4 cups extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
