Spontaneous trip to San Fran today (around noon) - Friday at noon.

I think I'm going to try Tony's pizza place and a spot or two I picked off Bourdains parts unknown (I think Swan Oyster and 4590 BBQ).

Would love to hear some bars/restaurants to go to. Especially bars that have a view.

In terms of price, I'll take all suggestions -- not looking to spend hundreds on any meals, but certainly wouldn't mind one nice dinner either.

Thank you!

Chef Tyler Florence's place Wayfare Tavern, was pretty damn good for lunch. Fried chicken was pretty tasty.

we really enjoyed lolinda...it's an argentinian steak house, but they have great small plates, and a nice selection of offal...if you're into that :)

If you're looking to stay strictly in SF, here are a couple:

1. Cliff House--good food but more for the view
2. Cha Cha Cha for cuban food
3. Bourbon & Branch for a cool Prohibition Era bar--dress up (look at Yelp pics for tips)
4. Burma Superstar
5. Lolo
6. Trou Normand
7. Piccolo Forno
8. Senor Sisig food truck for a quick lunch (website has daily locations)--recommend the California burrito w/ spicy pork

For awesome breweries, hit up Cellarmaker or 21st Amendment (both in SF), Fieldwork or Rare Barrel (both in Berkeley). Good beer bars in SF, I'd hit Toronado or Zeitgeist.

Bars with a view is difficult--I haven't found any great ones yet, but Jones has a pretty cool outside area and all around vibe.

If you venture to Oakland/East Bay:
1. Zachary's Pizza for some legit deep dish
2. Chez Panisse for fine dining
3. Cheese Board Pizza--rated the best new pizza joint in the country I believe a few years ago

Then if you venture down the peninsula, I always hit up The Refuge in San Carlos for the pastrami burger. So. Damn. Good. --Guy Fieri went here on DDD a few years back (although I think he's a fan boy of every place on DDD and never thinks anything is less than God's gift to food haha)

El Farolito
I wonder if it's the same owner as the ones in Sonoma County?
