Agree with you on all of that. Plus Shell charges a lot of money and with the Fuel Perks it's basically a wash. You're going to save more money filling up at SAMs or Costco in the long run than with Fuelperks at Shell.

So you are mad at winn dixie because they required more notice to make sandwich trays.

You sound very fickle

If you want a sandwich tray and one store will provide it but the other one won't do so, then it seems like a logical choice to shop at the store that will provide what you want.

Seems simple to me. Oh, and if I were feeding a group of people like the OP, I'd damned sure be looking for a box/tray of sandwiches. Stylin'.

Both will provide, but one would/could not fill on three hours notice on sunday morning

Bit of a tough customer to change $10,000 of annual spending habit on such an issue.

24hrs to throw together a sandwich plate seems a bit much.

I always shop at Winn-Dixie over Rouse's locally, mostly because of the fuel perks rewards. We were invited to the wife's family's lake house today around 9pm last night. I decided we would bring a sandwich tray shortly after accepting the invite and called three local Winn-Dixie's to see about availability of a tray for 11am today. I realized it was short notice and wasn't expecting much.

Actually he doesn't. He mentioned in the op that he was well aware that this was somewhat of a tall order since it was so last minute. He was not as much mad at Winn Dixie as he was impressed with rouses. There's a difference.

How hard is it to buy bread, meat, cheese and spread to make your own sandwich tray?

It's not hard, but it is time consuming when you don't already have groceries on hand and you have a small child. Call me crazy but picking up a sandwich tray on the way to someone's house is a hell of a lot faster and easier than getting a kid dressed, go to grocery store, go back home, make a shite pile of sandwiches, tell the wife to hurry the hell up, and get in the car.

I spent more money at Trader Joe's in Baton Rouge than Winn Dixie and I live in Covington...

Picked up two platters for my wife last week at Calandro's. Man they were just bad. Really only complaint I've had about Calandro's deli.

Rouses applied for their permit and have documents in the Fire Marshall's office for the new store on Airline and the soon to be Antioch extension. I imagine it will be out in a couple months or so.

I hope you took the time to send this same writeup to the manager of that Rouse's. Hopefully, you got the name of the employee who helped you and you can include that. She deserves recognition.

I made it a point to tell the manager about the issue when I was there picking up my tray. He was extremely pleased to hear of a success a story and thanked me for my business.
