Went to Mike Anderson's last night and got 2 dozen raw oysters...they were probably the biggest oysters I've ever consumed, so much so that I almost got full with just 2 dozen. The next 2 months are going to be great for raw oysters.

Serious question. I've always wanted to try raw oysters. Is there a method to eating them? Secondly, what determines if they're good or not?

I have been hearing great reviews of mike andersons lately. I am going to check it out this weekend. It's probably been 2-3 years since my last visit.

My fiance and I had a dozen oysters from Chimes the other day and they were huge. Must be going around.

I prefer small oysters. I think they taste better.

I use the tried and true method of cocktail sauce and crackers.

when i get a couple dozen- i alternate between cracked/coctail sauce, naked with a shot of hot sauce, and cracker/pure horseradish.
