Very bad.

And they should feel bad

I'm no cicerone, but I think where they went wrong is choosing water drained from old truck radiators to make the beer.

It's nothing to write home about.. or start a thread about, but it's drinkable. There is a music venue I go to where it's the best thing they have.

I respectfully and whole heartedly disagree. I'll drink almost any cold beer.

But that stuff is awful. Got a six pack. Didn't finish the first. Hoped it was an isolated problem. It was not. Didn't want the second either.

So I tried to give it to my dog. He took one lap, turned away, and started licking his junk. Presumably to get the taste out of his mouth.

Absolutely.

In fact, off the top of my head, I can't think of another one that I don't like.

I've been unimpressed with just about everything they make save for Bock and the original "Beer"... both are imminently drinkable with a plate of Brisket and Ribs.

I thought it was pretty bad too but I could finish it.

I'd imagine once it gets old it taste very metallic. That great iron rich water of central texas seems to make its way into their beers

That's odd. I didn't hate it but preference is exactly that.

That must be it.

I was only half joking when I said it tasted like it was made in a truck radiator.

But, FWIW Shiner bock was my staple drinking beer when i lived in texas. I never noticed a metallic taste...

Perhaps my palate is much more refined these days

Shiner kind of went down hill right around the time they started brewing that cactus pear beer.

I don't understand why they haven't gone back to the drawing board with this...can't imagine anyone has ever purchased it more than once.

I don't prefer Jockamo, but if someone gives me one I'll drink it.

I'd prefer not to drink at all rather than the Shiner IPA.

All this talk makes me want to grab a single of Shiner Wicked Ram just to see how bad it is. I purposely avoided it the past because, well, Shiner. I'm not really surprised that it's not very good, but I should try it to be sure.

Shiner quality has plummeted over the past 5 years

Wow, you were right. This beer is atrocious. It makes Jockamo taste like Trillium. It's earned its spot as worst IPA I've ever had, beating out Indian Wells Amnesia IPA in a landslide. I can't even describe just how bad this beer was.
