Turkey looked, smelled and tasted totally fine...
Didn't realize until after consumption that it was expired...It was in the crisper and my fridge is kept very very cold.....
whats the FDB thoughts on shelf life dates??
I assume between the preservatives and sodium content, that cold cuts probably stay good for awhile

Nothing posted here can prevent you from getting sick at this point since you already ate it. Stay close to the toilet

How far past are we talking?

The pansies on here will tell you to enjoy you many bathroom breaks.
In reality, those deli meats are so loading with sodium / preservatives that they are probably good well after expiration.

This. There is plenty of leeway built into the expiration dates to avoid liability.

Keep in mind that we all throw a shite ton of perfectly good food away every day. I promise something even a little past its prime won't hurt you.

As long as it doesn't smell bad it's fine

Your nose knows. Those dates are merely suggestions and CYA. You usually get a longer life out of pre-packaged cs. deli cut.

Factually those dates are meaningless. Usually they correspond to when the food is absolutely not bad. Because if they put the last date that you could eat it there would be lawsuits. Literally everything can be eaten or drank after the expiration date.
