If you had to take 8 people out to dinner in the Covington area for a nice meal were would you go? And no I'm not taking the Causeway to NOLA.

Del Porto or Meribo are two good options.

How nice?
Dakota is one of my favorites. Del Porto, Pardo's, or Gallagher's Grill would also be good.

I'd like to stay under $50 per person including a drink or two so $30 meal each.
eta. The numbers above is what I'd prefer to spend but %75-80 per person isn't a deal breaker. Also open on Sunday
