Pho quynh closed and it's now viet garden.

I think the pho is terrible. Broth is flavorless. Go to Saigon noodle or little saigon down the street. Or sadec kitchen. Or dang's.

I don't want to show my ignorance here, but the only place I've ever had pho was Tasty Casian on Essen, thought it was damn good. Did you ever eat at TC for comparison?

Also, I'm an idiot...I meant to start this thread comparing Little Saigon to Viet Garden. Ultimately you'd suggest Little Saigon though?

Yes. Tasty Cajun's beef pho is pretty terrible also.

Seriously, Little Saigon, Dang's, and Sadec Kitchen (right next to Le's Market) is less than two minutes away. I'd try those places first. Viet Garden's pho has a lot of meat, but no amount of fish sauce, sriracha and hoison sauce could save that bland broth, and pho is all about the broth.

Hope you like what you try today.

Absolutely. But note that Little Saigon moved from their original location to across the street. A place called Saigon Noodle is where little saigon used to be. May be confusing

Damn, then I must be in for a real treat at one of those other places.

ETA: Thanks for the help.

I used to work with a bunch of Vietnamese folks and Sa Dec Kitchen is where they'd take us for pho. Every time I've been, the dining room was filled with Vietnamese people, so it seems to be the real deal. The pho is pretty damned good here and they make some kind of tea drink that's just awesome.

The only thing is that it's not the cleanest looking place and it's not in the greatest area, but the food is great.

EDIT: Also, if I remember correctly, you're going to want to bring cash.

This is our go to place for Pho in town. Their broth has the most flavor of all the places I've mentioned, and there is an added flavor that I can't quite put my finger on. They are also the fastest pho servers, damn bowl comes out almost before you order it.

Yup, cash only.

I've been to Sadec twice. Eaten there once. It was really good, but the second visit ended 30 seconds into it when the roach on the table made an appearance. The waitress tried to swat it off the table onto my lap with the menu. We left.

Little Saigon is my favorite once again. I'm glad they are opened now and their new building is much nicer than the previous spot.
