I had this last week at the Bottle Room in Whittier, CA. I'm a fan of the North Coast Old Rasputin Imperial Stout, but this Nitro version on tap kicked it up a notch. The addition of nitrogen gives the beer a creamy consistency that I just fell in love with. Going back tonight for more.

Last week I had it with The Bottle Room's Black and Blue Burger, which is a burger with duck fat grilled onions, Blue cheese and Black Mission fig jam.

Any of you ever tried the Nitro version of North Coast Old Rasputin Imperial Stout?

I think I'm actually drooling right now. Too bad it's not here up north.

I noticed that many taprooms that have dedicated nitro taps almost always put Old Raspy on the nitro tap when it rotates into the lineup.

It was incredible. Unlike a lot of tap rooms, this place actually has a serious chef. He's a Le Cordon Bleu grad who used to be the executive chef at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena, and came back home to Whittier to open his own restaurant. The beers they have are great, but we actually go more for the food that anything else.
