How's your oven's broiler? Honestly, most quick grilling on a gas grill can be easily replicated in a decent home broiler. Fish, shrimp, asparagus, boneless/skinless chicken, burgers, etc.
"Kids, everyone, let's all go inside. We're not going to hang out outside around the grill today, because the oven does just as good of a job."
Come to think of it, why have any grill, of any type, whatsoever? Your oven and stove should be able to cook food.

I have a Primo XL which is like the BGE, but oval. I like the shape better b/c I can cook about 6 racks of ribs without having to curve them. I've had mine for about 2 years and still have my gas grill, but have only turned it on once since I've had the primo and that was to cure a new cast iron pan. I was hesitant to make the leap because as someone already said, it takes longer to start. What i learned is the time it takes to prep and cook is the same. I have an electric starter for my Primo which is basically a heating element with a handle you plug into the wall. I put it in the coals, prep my meat and by the time I'm done prepping it's ready to cook. Vs gas where you would prep then start grill then cook.
I did like this grill they sell at academy: https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/outdoor-gourmet-pro-triton-classic-gascharcoal-grill-and-smoker-box?repChildCatid=3496032
Basically half gas/half charcoal. Charcoal side has an offset smoker box and gas side has a side burner. I can't speak to the quality of it though.

Thanks again for all of the input.
What I am leaning toward is getting a ceramic for versatility and just adding a mid-grade 2 burner gas setup for quick grills.

I already told you but you won't listen. I'll have salmon and asparagus done on the GF tonight in less time and fuel costs. So what is it about an electric grill? It is a tasteless heat source!

Charcoal gives you more whiskey drinking time.
