I am going to make a batch for the in laws this week. Anyone have experience on doing big batches? Since there is sugar, spices, etc..what type of red wine works best?

Use a bolder wine, such as a cab.
Mulled wine is like egg nog to me. I love the idea of it, but the actual product is always kind of "meh".
