Going for first time tonight. Any recommendations? I typically like fried seafood platters as a safe pick but I'm always open to a other things.

Thanks

Never had it. We did get one from Crabby Shack's last week and it was pretty good. I'm not a fan of Crabby's fried food, but the poboy was on point.

Mortons is a solid seafood joint. Stick to the basics and you'll enjoy it.

It is adding information to the poboy at Morton's while adding the fact that a local joint just up the street also has a damn fine poboy. This is a board where people relay their thoughts numerous topics, not the OT.

What else do you want to bitch about this evening?

They used to have a pretty decent Seafood Pasta. Fried Grouper was also good last time I ate there for lunch...

I live nearby but haven't been there in 5 years. I always found their fried oysters to be caked with batter. Too bready tasting. Has that gotten better?

Total opposite. Very lightly battered last night. I'm not a fan of items caked in battered anx they were perfect to me.

I went back in December and was still not pleased. I've always found it to be meh food that's overpriced. I agree though that if you stick to the fried shrimp and such you won't hate yourself for going.

Ate there last week with a group.

Fried Calamari App isn't bad. The Onion Rings are good also.

Half Priced Boiled Shrimp and Draft beer special on Thursdays. Boiled Shrimp were good and everyone that ordered them liked it.

The blackened redfish wasn't that great last week. The mixed vegetables were corn, onions, and bell peppers cooked in crab boil and I don't recommend. The mashed potatoes had bacon and cheese and were alright but not anything fantastic.

The boiled crawfish are good there too when in season if you aren't boiling your own.

Shrimp Po-Boy was looking good too.
