Hot dogs every time. The cheap ones, but not the red ones. I put in when it starts rolling and I turn down the fire.
Tried Pineapple last year. I put it into the rotation permanently. Put in same time as Hot Dogs.
New Iberia buddy told me to try bananas. Never tried it again.

Brussel Sprouts (halved) (5)

Gave the ol' sprout a shot last boil. Did half of them whole, and half of them halved.

Whole: Consensus 5
Half: Consensus 3. The leaves started shedding.

Cauliflower (3)

The whole head of cauliflower. Loved it the first time. Then the next few times I backed off. It sucks in a TON of the seasoning, and it also is really mushy and kind of gross to watch a ton of people rip it apart. I agree with a 3 rating

Sweet potatoes (3)

Need to cut these large. If they're cut too small, then they disintegrate. I give it a 4.

Jalapenos (5) About 2 lbs per batc

Are these cut up jalapenos that you can get in a jar? Or just whole jalapenos?

i posted this in another thread but wanted to post it here

my buddy brought over some cow testicles that he had in his freezer. Apparently his family eats them every year. he is from Oklahoma.

Long story short.. not sure if anyone has ever tried them before but holy crap they were actually pretty amazing. We didnt tell people they were cow nuts, people were eating them. Then we finally said what they were and some folks were just grossed out and stop eating them

quote:

Since cattle ranching is prevalent and castration of young animals is common, Oklahomans just eat away at this common appetizer dish - also known as calf fries.

One one several years ago we were done cooking crawfish but didn't want to stop drinking by the burner- buddy went in and grabbed a bunch of boneless country pork ribs from fridge. They are now a staple.
