Opps fixed it. Maybe that's why no one ever went . They thought it was a Deli.

They've been closed for quite some time now. Not sure how or why they would be open.

Come on man. It's only been like 8 threads in the last week.

Damn. I scrolled back almost 8 pages. And I passed by a couple a weeks ago and saw the old man's Lincoln parked in its usual spot.

Oh well.

I'll go crawl back under my rock now.

It's kind if funny, the last 3 Mama Della's threads had the same exact title.

They should just make this a sticky.

BTW, given the amount of concern over this place closing (especially when no one apparently liked it) it is interesting I guess. I know it was on TV and all but damn.

Info on Mama Della's

quote:

Mama Della’s, the New York-style pizzeria at 8190 Jefferson Hwy. that last year was featured in an episode of the Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible, has been closed for nearly five weeks now. Owner Barry Kalt says he hopes he can find some help to keep his restaurant alive, but its unclear if the closure will be temporary or permanent.

Only way anyone should invest in this place is if the owner keeps his arse out of there.

Agreed. It is a damn shame though. I never had an issue with the owner, but I could see where others certainly would. He made the best pizza in the area IMO. I hope they speed along the Dolce Vita location so I have a decent option again.

Passed by there yesterday and it looked open except there were no cars in the lot or any signs of life inside. But it still looked open.

Do you mean the lights were on? Then that was probably Barry looking around for his lost hope. Perhaps the owner of Pat's next door can help him find it, since they are looking for the same thing.

I take that back, Pat's owner probably needs about four more months of reality before he loses his hope. He's probably in the 2nd stage of acceptance: Anger. There are five stages of acceptance:
1) Denial
2) Anger
3) Bargaining
4) Depression
5) Acceptance

From a recent article, Barry was hoping for some investors to keep the bidness going. That sounds like the bargaining stage to me. Of course no investor is that stupid (besides family). Now that he hasn't received any phone calls, he's likely in the early stage of depression. Only one more step to go Barry! You're almost there!

Just saw the for lease sign. They're done, at least at that location.

Was Barry somehow related to Tony Deangelo (the owner of Tony Deangelo's pizza that used to be a sponsor on here)? They seem like the exact same person. Best pizza makers in town, but can't run a business worth a shite.

no, I don't think they're related. I never liked that place. People loved their pizza, I found it to be soggy and unsavory.
