What is the name of the place on Highland Road just outside the North Gates that supposedly has good soul food/plate lunches? Remember it being described as right across from the Police Substation. It has been discussed on here several times, but could not find it using the Search function. It could be WFLT.

Thanks Woody! We'll post a review if my coworkers don't chicken out (little nervous about the location).

I have the same issue. Whenever we go out to lunch this is the first place I name but my coworkers don't want to go with me.

It's actually really safe, nothing to be worried about. Very clean on the inside.

Went today, and it was a very positive experience. Order from the counter-some of the crew got the fried pork chop, which was about the size of a manhole cover and very tender. A couple got the red beans and rice, which they said was terrific. I got the fried chicken-leg and thigh, pieces were a little small, but crispy, cooked perfectly, and very flavorful. Sides were all awesome-I had green beans, yams and cornbread dressing, others had mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice and gravy. All got good reviews. Lunch plates were $7.95, very reasonable for the huge amount of food (main course, 3 sides and cornbread). Very nice and clean inside as mentioned above. Didn't hurt that #3 Chad Jones was sitting at the table next to us-figure if an LSU player is in there chowing down, it's a good sign.

We will be back.

I ate there a few days ago. I had the smothered pork chops, rice and gravy, corn, mac and cheese. $6.95

It was good, nothing great. The gravy was bland. I will go back. The fried chicken did look really good.

The place is very clean and filled with LSU stuff.

I went in today and Chad Jones was there again. 2 days in a row. Must be a real good sign.

Dad-sounds like a place for us to do lunch next time you land in BR? Given that I thought LSU fed our boys well, CJ piling up in there is a good sign (and like you said, maybe he spent too much time in there between baseball and football season).

Pretty awesome spread for Hotlanta. Make sure they have a table like that set for the Cajun Invasion for UNC next year? I know you can handle that!
