Irish Channel/Garden District restaurants taking a hit.

I never made it to either. Just too damn many restaurants to keep up with.

Went to both.

As stated in another thread, Altamura was one of the worst dining experiences in NOLA I can ever recall, and the prices were outrageous. No surprise.

I was thinking three summers ago we had pushed past the limit of number of restaurants and they kept opening more and real estate prices/rent just keeps going up.

I look for several more closings in the next few months.

Ate at Altamura around Mardi Gras. Wasn't bad, but found it over priced. Sucks that they didn't even make a year.

Sushi place on Mag next to NY Pizza is long overdue for a shutdown.

Rosa Mezcal was not good. I tried it no less than a dozen times and it was expensive and nothing tasted good.

I liked the blue tacos. Hard to mess them up and it was pretty good and happy hour was good.

Slice on Magazine also shut down and it's now a Juans. That's 2 Juan'son Magazine St. I'll still stay loyal to Taqueria Corona.

I think the guys who started Juans also controlled Slice.

Between Charcoals, Bayou Burger and Smash Burger the Magazine St. burger scene is pretty weak. Which is a shame because I enjoy a good burger and live uptown a block off Magazine.

Also whatever is replacing O'Henry's next to Camellia Grill is going to have a tough time.
