I'm hosting some Ole Miss grads for the LSU/Ole Miss Game. What to cook?

Looking for some easy cajun suggestions for a novice chef. I grew up with great food from both sides of the family. My wife is an LSU grad as well, but she grew up in TN where we currently live. Looking for easy simple foods to cook for the game. Doesn't need to be the "BEST" way, but the simple way.

Thanks!

jambalaya or gumbo. Both are easy to make and easy to serve.

Bacon wrapped "poppers"- Cut jalapenos in half lengthwise, de seed them, add cream cheese, can add meat (Duck, sausage, etc.), wrap whole thing in bacon, season and grill

Jambalaya or gumbo are always good. Not difficult but it is important to pay attention to the steps involved.

Plenty of Sauce Piquant and Etouffee recipes that can be found by google

I disagree. They are easy to make but equally easy to eff up, especially for a first timer. Do something on the grill. The bacon wrapped shrimp stuff is easy. Get some jalapeno and cut in half, then put some cream cheese inside and bake...that's easy too. Pork tenderloin on the grill is hard to mess up.

here is a jambalaya recipe you CANNOT frick up. it wont be the best you ever had, but it will be very good. you can make it even easier by using "gasp" uncle ben's

joe's jambalaya

this jambalaya was served to thousands of tourists at a cooking school/demo operation in new orleans for decades

Cold Kroger fried chicken, cheese tray, red solo cups but make sure you have 200 year old silver fine dining trays and silverware with white tablecloths... that’s what they do in the grove.... no open flames allowed.

They're used to cold chicken tenders and finger sandwiches. So anything warm will probably blow their minds.

Gumbo or jambalaya.

If they’re ole miss alumni they won’t know the difference if you make it right or mess it up. That’s the fun part about cooking for out of towners
