I don't understand this. You enjoyed it, but later decided you didn't?

Not in the least, it tasted good, but as I understand it, a lot of mediocre food gets by my unsophisticated palate without me realizing it.

Now that I have been schooled, thanks R2R, I understand it is not good and I won't eat it again. Kind of like gulf fish, I know now that I should search out higher quality ingredients at high brow, R2R approved, restaurants like Beausoleil.

This thread has been unexpectedly great for smoking out a few bottom feeders.

And for that, I thank you.

Obviously. I didn't read the whole thread, but his point is still valid. There are groups on this board that are willing to attack those willing to give an honest opinion. For some reason, it usually occurs when discussing places that are thought of as mediocre.

So you will pay $25+ for a frozen farm raised fish over a fresh "gulf fish."

Yea, this is not an accurate description of Lilette

Well if he is eating barramundi at Lilette it's a very good chance it has been previously frozen and is 100 % chance it is farm raised. If he indeed did have it there then it is an accurate description, however I've eaten there a dozen times and have never seen it on the menu. But what they do have is Hawaiian fish. Care to take a guess as to what it is? Triggerfish.

So if he rails on someone because they chose to eat "fresh gulf fish" and uses a frozen farm raised (in Massachusetts, Australia or Central Asia) as what he would much prefer over a "fresh gulf fish" I'd say his credentials are suspect and should be discounted. If it hurts his feelings well, not a lot I can do. He can pick up his purse and parasol and go home.
