NY Times article

Cliff Notes: "Contrary to many stories you may hear, there’s no real scientific proof that, for otherwise healthy people, drinking extra water has any health benefits."

I probably drink a gallon a day and have for over thirty years. May have two or three Cokes or Barqs a year. A few ice teas, coffee daily. Just prefer water.

I like water. I'm just tired of trying to force it down.

thirst is one of the first signs of dehydration. so is standing up and feeling light headed.

as long as you don't ever feel thirsty or stand up getting light headed, I'd say you're getting enough water

I had my first coke yesterday in months. I moved away from them years ago, but occasionally (once every three or four months) have one. It tasted like shite. Way too sweet.

Water and milk are all that I like now.

I drink maybe one soft drink per month.

Water, fat free milk, coffee and beer (3-4 per week) are about all I drink. Unsweet tea from time to time.

Don't know if you've heard or not, but that is pretty bad for you.

I feel the need to drink water especially at night. I'll typically drink 2 or 3 glasses of water before bed and then wake up once to pee and down another 2 to 3 glasses of water before being able to fall back asleep.

If you are referring to beer and coffee, they supply water for your system.

The whole "coffee doesn't count" is b.s.
