Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165. Why would you only cook chicken sausage to 150? Attempt at your own peril.

I am smoking homemade chicken sausage with " cure" in it, not fully cooking it. I am well aware that the finished temp needs to be higher than that

So what's your question?

According to the posts in this thread you are going for internal temperature. For someone to answer the question of how many hours it may take to get to temp, you would have to indulge a lot more information than chicken sausage. How much sausage, how much does each link/piece weigh, etc, etc. Even then it would be total bullshite from anyone who attempted to answer.

I recommend drinking beer, mixed drinks or even water if you don't drink and enjoy the weather until it reaches the temperature you are seeking. Enjoy !!!

I'll mark this down as one of the dumbest threads I've seen in long time.

welcome to the world of smoking, and not to be a smart arse but it will just take as long as it takes to get to temp, just too many variables to account for, such as ambient temp, how much product in smoker, temp of product in smoker, how big the smoker is, the size and shape of product in the smoker, where the thermometer is placed in the smoker, etc etc, just sit back and enjoy

Dude, if I was looking for smartass and unhelpful comments, I would have gone to the OT. I was just seeing if anyone else had ever smoked sausage at home and what kind of timeframe I was looking at to get the project done.

My guess, based on smoking fresh brats, would be around 1.5-2 hrs, but the old saying is BBQ be done when its done.

I gave you a very legit answer about the cooking temp and you were a dickhead. Then you proceeded to ask stupid questions with no information. How the frick can we tell you how long to cook something when we don't know how big the item is or anything else other than the approximate temperature. Those are huge question marks. Instead of being a dickbag when people give you a legit answer, try wording the question like you aren't a complete retard.
