Slayed the yellowfin this weekend, so of course I had to make some sushi

A couple things:

1. Nice effort. I'm sure the combination of ingredients tasted good.

2. Those rolls do look pretty bad, but none of us are sushi chefs so it's not like I could do better

3. Did you find the cost of ingredients and time to make them was a worth it for the final product? Looking at the type of rolls and quantity, you are probably spending $20 in a restaurant for a better final product

While your rolls were probably delicious, I would have preferred it served like this.

It was my first attempt, so I was pleased with how they came out, they are a little tricky to do. And yes it was well worth the final product, freshest yf you can get...ain't much better.

Also that amount of rolls in a restaurant would've been way more than $20

You need a very sharp knife.

A trick is to dip the knife in some water before cutting into the rolls.

Good rice is the hardest part of sushi...

rolls are fun and tasty an we make them with yft.

However, I find sashimi an nigiri to be easier and a tastier use of my prized catch.

Whoops. I miscounted, though I'm not that far off.

Tuna/Avocado roll will run about $7.00 a roll at a decent place (like Sushi Yama).

So $42.00 total...still, not too bad.

Kudos to you for making it. It's something I'd never attempt so I can respect those that give it a shot.

Those are some beautiful rolls, though a little heavy on the rice.

Some "special rolls"with cream cheese, crab stick, and fish can be around 12 bucks in some places. Can't tell what all is going on in OP.

Looks good. IWEI.

Lot's of different combinations were going on. Had some with tuna, avocado, mango, and cream cheese. Spicy tuna with cucumber...any sort of combinations I could think of with those ingredients I did.

Yeah, a whole $20 off is just such a huge blunder on my end. I could have said $1 and it was really $2...that's still double.

The OP doesn't need you to knight for him. I said his sushi looks good and I would eat it, but for the work and prep involved, I'd have just bought it.
