What types of items do you order, and does it really get there in 2 hours?

I would think it would be good for groceries. Can I order stuff I need for dinner and have it sitting on my front porch when I get home? How reliable is it?

Just had a 250 gb ssd arrive a couple minutes ago. It's very reliable.

I wish it was available in my area...
Right now I use Subscribe and Save for everything but meats, vegetables, milk, etc....

Everything else comes in two large boxes once a month.

We use it on an almost weekly basis. I've ordered everything from groceries to lightbulbs...and even underwear...because I wanted to be able to say I ordered underwear and had it delivered in two hours.

It usually takes less than an hour and only once did it take close to 2 hours. You can schedule your two hour window too. So if you want it for cooking dinner at 6PM, you can order that morning and request the 4-6PM delivery window. Sometimes delivery windows will get full, so you can't always wait until 3PM to pick the 4-6PM window.

My pregnant wife works from home and watches our toddler, so Prime Now has been great. We can order groceries for the week and all I have to do is stop by a meat market on the way home to grab whatever else is needed to complete the meals.

HEB, a local store here in Houston, just created a similar service, so we may try that a couple times. They provide a much wider variety of products, where Amazon Prime Now can be somewhat limited.

Any hidden costs, like delivery fees or tips? I obviously need to do more research. All I know at this point is that they deliver to my zip code out here in Beaverton. They use New Seasons Market as one of their vendors, and we shop their all the time.

The downside is that I often times have a beer while I'm shopping there, so I would lose that.

It recommends a 10% tip.

You can always have a beer while you wait for it to be delivered

And yea, it suggests a 10% tip.

I use it all the time! It's better than fighting crowds at stores and saves time. Prices on Amazon are usually better than stores anyways.

ETA: I live in Houston where we also have grocery delivery and uber eats/ door dash. You never have to leave the house.

Prime now is awesome. You can also order take-out from certain restaurants from it. I've used it for that and random other things.
