Question on a gumbo - any of y'all ever put boiled eggs in your gumbo? Had a friend do this years ago. Never had it other than her's.

when I was growing up my family (mom, mostly) put boiled eggs in our gumbo. I don't do it anymore; would rather add potato salad if I'm adding something besides rice + gumbo.
