Carli-Co is best breakfast deal in town and well worth it.

Never been to Philay's. What do you recommend?

Philay's is a good option.
Good enough variety as well.
Everything I have had there from hamburger to seafood has been good.
Not as crowded as Sammy's for lunch.

I'm sad I didn't see this at lunch time. I hope you went to country kitchen.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of Country Kitchen. I mean it's ok, but the veggies are all straight from a can and just blah. Last time I went the catfish was tough as shoe leather.

Actually, tomorrow is when I'm going. Might check out Duckroost, never heard of it before.

Is Country Kitchen any cleaner? It's been a few years but I found the interior pretty sketchy. I'm usually OK with ethnic sketchy, but it was below my minimal standards.

Nah, it's the same. I love country style buffets, but Country Kitchen isn't one of the better ones.

Duckroost is in STA. It's good but can get real crowded and a lil slow. Not many tables either. Some of their lunch specials are great though.

John Michaels Good Eats

Damn, been a minute since I have had this. Really good. Menu was huge, the if the dish used those homemade meatballs it was sure to be a winner.

Think I found my lunch for saturday.

Was just coming to post John Michael's Good Eats. Shrimp Remoulade wrap with the pasta salad side and that spearmint tea. YUM!

Philay's has some good food. I like their catfish.

John Michael's is over in dutchtown but they have some really good sandwiches.

Sno's is pretty good. A little more pricey than the other 2.

Depending on your location in Gonzales, Burnside Cafe at Houmas House might not be far and they have a very good menu.
