Is it fair to compare this place to the likes of Mr. John's, La Boca, Desi Vega's, Chophouse or Emeril's Delmonico?

Last time in New Orleans, we went to Restaurant R'volution and enjoyed our dining experience. Everything was top notch.

I'm looking to take my wife somewhere for her birthday and Galatoire's 33 has always been a place I have wanted to try.

Thoughts?

It's good but not as good as those places. Esp considering downtown traffic and FQ parking. My steaks the 2x ive eaten there were good but not great. Run of the mill sides. The bar is nice but the dining room lacks character

If you are going to Galatoire's, you might as well go to the real deal next door.
