That 35lb of peanut oil at sams is not $35, its $48 bro... i ended up getting this :

Dang, I paid that much? Memory starting to fail me.

I've used that frying oil and it is fine. You can reuse it a couple of times. I use the pure peanut oil cause I can get at least 4 batches out of it. I fry a lot of turkeys during the holidays.

No last year peanut oil was reasonable (30-35$) but I just saw a 4 gallon jug for 60, Sams has it for about 45, Cabelas has Cottenseed oil for $39 last nite and I have herd very good things about Cotten Seed, any body here use it?

I've used it and it's fine. Can't really tell the difference. I think the smoking point is a little lower, but it's not a big deal unless your trying to get more batches out of it.

You are right about the prices skyrocketing. I know I didn't pay $48 at Sam's last year for my peanut oil. Academy has the 3 gal cottonseed for $30 and peanut oil for $35.

by the way the "clear frying oil" worked great ! and turkey's were killer !

never thought about frying ribs but that sounds pretty good. I will try that next time we fry a turkey or a few chickens.
